Some places hold more than memories—they hold love.
Bailey was the heart behind the Lazy Hound Lodge long before it had a name. She was there in the quiet mornings, the long afternoons, and the evenings when everything finally slowed down. She didn’t need much—just a place to rest, a familiar voice, and the comfort of being close.
That simplicity shaped this Lodge.
After Thanksgiving, we said goodbye to Bailey, and our hearts are still catching up. Losing her left a silence that only those who have loved a dog deeply can understand. She wasn’t just part of our family—she was part of the rhythm of this place.
Bailey taught us what rest really looks like. She showed us that slowing down isn’t something to feel guilty about—it’s something to protect. The Lazy Hound Lodge exists because of that lesson.
This Lodge will always carry her spirit. Not as something lost—but as something woven into its foundation. Her memory lives on here—in every cozy corner, every peaceful morning, and every guest who arrives needing a pause from the world.
We miss her deeply.
We are endlessly grateful for the fourteen years we had with her.
And her pawprints will forever be part of this place.
Rest easy, sweet Bailey.
Our lives and certainly the Lazy Hound Lodge are better because of you.
